Research Purchasing Guide

Turn a product listing into a clear purchasing brief.

Before choosing a material, record the exact product name, listed strength, number of vials and quantity of packs needed. Do not assume a number in a product name identifies a dose or a prepared-solution concentration.

Ask product-specific questions.

  • Which lot is available, and what information identifies it?
  • Which analytical documents accompany that lot?
  • What physical form and pack contents will be supplied?
  • What handling and storage information is provided for the actual material?
  • Are any project-specific packaging or documentation requirements feasible?

Keep the records together.

Save the product specification, quotation, order confirmation and documents supplied for the lot. At receipt, compare labels and pack counts against the order and record discrepancies before proceeding with your laboratory workflow.

Separate catalog labels from research decisions.

Category names help navigate the store. They are not evidence that a material is suitable for a particular experiment or approved for clinical use. Assess suitability using the actual specification and your institution’s procedures.

This guide covers purchasing and documentation. It contains no reconstitution, dosing or administration protocol. For a product inquiry, contact the store.
